Our Ministries...

Vacation Bible School

Our Vacation Bile School offers a different approach from the traditional one week program. Instead we meet every Wednesday morning for eight weeks over the course of the summer. We provide stories, great music, games and snacks. One week we have a guest speaker. Most recently our guest was from the Carnegie museum who introduced us to SLIMY THINGS! We take a field trip to Life Beaver County (adult day care) to entertain and interact with the clients.

To complete our sessions, we hold a wheel-a-thon to raise monies for local projects or charities. This year we help fund the BAHS National Honor Society weekend backpack program to help feed needy students. Come visit to experience fun, friends and fellowship!

Outreach

Although we are a small congregation, we are blessed with individuals committed to spreading the news of Jesus Christ through example of Christian living.  We look for ways to be active in and serve our community of Beaver County, and to quietly and consistently help others. Every year, our adult leaders and children of our Summer Camp sponsor a Wheel-a-Thon to benefit a local charity or cause.

In the past, we have helped the Women’s Center of Beaver County, earned money to provide musical instruments to students in West Virginia whose school was damaged in flooding, and this year we raised over $500 to support the Beaver High School backpack program, which provided weekend meals to needy students.  Watching the children ride, skateboard, or pull wagons in this event to raise money for a good cause is heartwarming, and a wonderful learning experience for them to put their hands and feet to work.

Each year our congregation participates in Beaver’s Garrison Day event.  People have come to look forward to our food booth which sells amazing strawberry shortcake and luscious grill cooked hot dogs. Proceeds from this event are dedicated to providing funds for the youth of our congregation to attend church camps, and this year we will be sending one youth and an adult leader to the national Youth Gathering.

Whether it be these activities, or smaller, more donation centered giving, we try to help those in need. This year we made a special effort to donate through the ELCA to hurricane relief, participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring, and walked in the Women’s Center’s Annual Walk/Run to Break the Cycle.  We can’t wait to see what our next community adventure will be!

Kiddie Korner

Kiddie Korner is a private, nonprofit daycare facility serving Beaver County since 1980. We are open Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We are closed all major holidays. We participate in the Keystone Stars program which is affiliated with the Department of Education.

Kiddie Korner is working at different levels to achieve this quality rating. Kiddie Korner is a facility that is committed to maintain compliance with program regulations and to enhance quality early learning through Keystone Stars. Kiddie Korner uses a monthly based curriculum with the children. Once a week a group of ladies provide a bible school for the children to attend.

Simple morals and values are taught to the children through singing, dancing and story time.  During the summer when schools are closed, our school age children participate in vacation bible school each week. With the support of the church members and Kiddie Korner parents, we are able to provide a healthy, morally and safe environment for the children and an opportunity to get closer to God.

Christian Education

Christian education is an important component of our life in Christ. Our learning opportunities include; a joint women’s weekly bible study, mid-week services during Advent and Lent, a weekly children’s ministry offered to the preschoolers of the Kiddie Korner child development center where the emphasis is on knowing you are a child of God experienced through stories, prayers and songs.

Sunday School for preteens and teens where students learn to navigate the bible and explore their relationships to our loving and faithful God and their peers, a vacation bible school “Summer camp” for K thru 8th grade where for eight weekly session stories, music, games and science guide children to a better understanding of God.

We achieve community outreach to our elderly population through a visit to a local adult day care center where we share music and one on one interaction, and a annual wheel-a-thon concludes the summer raising money for a selected charity.

Worship & Music

Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16

Our choir is filled with the Spirit of God and loves to life their voices to the Lord.  They meet for rehearsal once per week in the afternoon.

Every Sunday during worship we share the Sacrament of Holy Communion and receive the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing you shall receive.  Matthew 21:22
