Mid -Week Lenten Services

Mid- Week services begin this Wednesday, February 21st

 7 PM at Holy Trinity

Our theme is “Thy Will Be Done.” “Not as I will, but as you will,”
Jesus prayed to his Father the night before he went to the cross for our
salvation. And that is our prayer as well this Lent as we seek to do
God’s will in our lives, as we draw near to the observance of Christ’s
suffering, death and resurrection during Holy Week. Written by Rev.
Justin Rossow, each service in the series focuses on a different aspect
of God’s will at work among us. Biblical characters are used as
insightful reference points each week to guide us in following our Lord
more nearly day by day.
In this service for Week 1 of Lent, we remember that, at first, Moses
did not think he could free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. But
God gave him confidence to set his people free. In Lent we remember
that God sent his Son to do his will and set all people free from the
slavery of sin.

Youth Gathering

On June 27th Kayla Brightwell and her chaperone, Mary Bryner, will be joining thousands of youth and adults at the 2018 ELCA Youth Gathering. The theme for this year is “This Changes Everything” and will be held in Houston, Texas from June 27-July 1.
As the director, Molly Beck Deen describes it” “The Gathering is a faith formation experience like none other that has become a milestone in the lives of many Lutheran high schoolers. The Gathering enriches congregational ministry through providing experiences that will challenge and strengthen faith and give participants a wide view of their church.”
The Christian Education committee is accepting donations to defray the cost of the trip for the participants. Money from the Garrison Day sale provided the funds for the registration, and now we welcome donations to defray the cost of the airline tickets, hotel, offerings, and meals. To that end, also look for a yard sale in the spring to assist in this project. Thank you for all your efforts on behalf of this worthy cause.
Please mark you donation YOUTH GATHERING and place in the offering plate.
