Holy Trinity

Bible Study Group will meet on Monday, November 2 at 11am at Holy Trinity. Come join in as we focus on the theme “For everything there is a season” and the Seasons of the Church Year.

November 1 we will be remembering and lighting candles for those who have passed since last All Saints Day. We will also be remembering those named on the forms submitted who died previously.

First Sunday of Advent is November 29. We will begin our joint worship dinners and Holden Evening Prayer services on December 2 with the following schedule: Hope December 2 -Holy Trinity December 9-Hope December 16.

“Give Thanks” is the theme of our fall Parish Retreat to be held on Saturday, November 7. This year features a “Dinner Church” with the meal and service combined, and we will be making gifts for our shut-ins. Our day begins at 9:30 with registration and a light breakfast, and ends around 2:30. Please sign up in the Narthex. If you can bring a dessert to share it would be appreciated.

At the suggestion of Jane Davis, we will be collecting gift cards and other items for a Thanksgiving Basket for a needy family. We will soon announce how you can participate.

We will again this year be participating in Glade Run’s Christmas Angel program, we will be collecting gift cards for this project. As soon as we receive more details we will let you know how to help.

Our beautiful new paraments which were dedicated during Sundays service….a big thank you to all who were involved in making this happen.

All Saints Sunday on November 1. We will again remember those who have passed since last All Saints Day and others we would like to remember. Forms will be available in the bulletins October 18 and October 25.

As you may know, our green altar paraments were in need of repair and replacing. Sharon Gulish did much research, and we decided to utilize the moneys donated as memorials to purchase new paraments and altar linens. They have arrived! On Sunday, October 11, at our normal service, we will dedicate our new paraments, and we will be inviting the family members to come to the service. We are especially remembering Jack Davis, Bob Miller, and the family of Betsy Connor. We will have a small reception afterwards in the coffee room.

We are providing meals one evening a month to the guests at the Cornerstone Men’s shelter. There are about 20 residents, and there is a sign up sheet in the Narthex. Our next dinner is October 12.
